Case Study: TicTac supports Freudenberg with software tutorials
At a glance
The project: Creation of two software tutorials for the training of employees in Corporate Controlling & Accounting with the authoring tool Articulate 360.
Company name: Freudenberg SE
Company sector: conglomerate, technology & manufacturing
The company
With > 60 sites and around 50,000 employees, the Freudenberg Group is a global technology company, agile and flexible, with a scientifically based commitment to progress. Its employees are experts in leading-edge products, services and solutions used in thousands of applications and in around 40 market segments. When technical systems, complex processes and sophisticated products function reliably, Freudenberg is often behind them. The company is still family-owned today and the values of its founder Carl Johann Freudenberg continue to provide support.
The challenge
Due to the changed working conditions in the course of New Work, it became necessary to be able to offer software training online. The Corporate Controlling & Accounting team had a tight schedule for this. Two tutorials were required in the period January to April 2022, which have been the tried and tested format for software training at the Freudenberg Group since 2015. By using the user-friendly authoring tool Articulate, such digital learning formats are normally created internally at Freudenberg. Due to tight deadlines and resource constraints, the Freudenberg Group turned to TicTac’s team of experts to create the tutorials. The first tutorial is intended as basic training for new employees so that they can become familiar with the software in use. The second tutorial, on the other hand, is devoted to special topics that occur irregularly and are aimed at experienced software users. The second tutorial outlines a solution for these special cases.
The implementation
By always communicating clearly, the TicTac team was able to produce the two tutorials on the tight schedule. The seamless delivery of the required storyboards, screen recordings and voice recordings made it possible for the Interlake team to create the desired tutorials in a very short time. The early involvement of project participants at Freudenberg in the test phase also contributed to this. The layout was based on existing tutorials for the purpose of recognition. The goal was the knowledge transfer of a subject-specific software. The format was chosen due to desired time savings by reducing individual training and requests. For the creation, the customer decided together with Interlake for an implementation with Articulate Storyline. As an official German partner of Articulate, TicTac’s certified trainers were able to specifically contribute their expertise in using the e-learning authoring tool.
Conclusion
It was a very successful collaboration. The basis for this was created by close cooperation and adherence to the schedule. “We were very satisfied with the cooperation and the quality of the finished tutorials. We would recommend TicTac at any time” is how a project participant from the Freudenberg Group describes the cooperation in conclusion.
